Use this program to create 2D games with little coding required. It includes an integrated graphics editor with anti-aliasing, rotation and alpha blending features. The integrated map editor supports multiple parallax scrolling layers of sprites and tiles. Tile-based layer design minimizes resource usage, and sprites allow arbitrary positioning and movement of objects on the screen. The integrated designers and framework support animated tiles and overlapping tiles in order to create isometric-like views. Real-time transformation of graphics means no need to duplicate transformed (rotated or flipped) copies of images, which also reduces resource usage. This program will generate an executable file from the game project, which runs as native code on the .NET 2.0 framework (rather than being interpreted at run-time). It also generates a project file that can loaded into the free Visual C# Express environment to allow debugging or enhanced editing of the project outside the provided IDE. Although there are many visual editors to allow users to create games with minimal coding, there is also much flexibility. For example, each delivered sprite template defines a particular type of sprite that a user might want to include in a game. The sprite template can be customized by editing the rules using an integrated editor. Select a rule from a drop-down list of available functions (such as "ReactToSolid" or "FollowPath") in order to add new behavior to a sprite (or update existing behaviors). But beyond that, users can also create their own rule implementations or edit the existing rule implementations without resorting to changing the IDE source code. This is done by editing the source code in the game project's framework, which is exposed via the IDE's "Source Code" folder. These custom rules can then be used just as readily as any rule delivered with the IDE. Extensive documentation (context sensitive help file) is included, and support is available on the discussion forums.
